The development of Social Bonding is the recognition that the world does not revolve around me and that I have a responsibility to ensure the welfare of others as well as my own welfare.

It also enhances an individual's sense of self-worth and self-efficacy- they know they have a contribution to make and that people want them to make it. They and their contribution are valued. It is important to note that this contribution and participation ought to be regular and meaningful if it is going to enhance and individual's resilience and create a culture where participation and contribution by individuals becomes the norm. These opportunities need to be more than token or sporadic.

By contributing in social activities we try to recognize that we, or our organization, are not the centre of the universe and that investment in social capital is a natural and necessary part of being human- a recognition that "no man is an island"!!!.

The great work of following Organizations/Initiatives have inspired me to contribute to achieve their aims.
